The Obituary of Stella C. Scott Ace

8 February 1878 - 28 April 1951

From the Livonia Gazette, 10 May 1951.

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur Ace, who passed away on Apr. 28 in a Rochester hospital after a long illness, were held at her late home in Honeoye village on Wednesday, May 2, at 2 p.m.

Officiating were the Rev. Ernest Reimer of Scottsville, former Hemlock Baptist pastor, and the Rev. Robert Lacker, present Baptist pastor.

Mrs. Ace survived her late husband, Arthur S. Ace, by only a few months. Mr. and Mrs. Ace lived most of their life in and near Honeoye, retiring a few years ago from their farm in Canadice.

She was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Craig Scott of Wilkes Barre, Pa., and spent the early years of her life in Ashley, Pa. where she was active in church choir work.

In 1911 she came to New York State with her husband and family and had lived in this vicinity for 40 years.

Mrs. Ace is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Edna Mallaber of Nunda, Mrs. Margaret Briggs and Mrs. Mabel Coykendall, both of Hemlock; 4 sons, James of Lima, Ora of Canadice, Woodrow of Honeoye and Harold of Oakland, Calif.; 3 step-children, Mrs. Edna Treble and Elmer Ace of Honeoye, and Leon Ace of Rochester; 3 sisters, Mrs. Roger Kirkhuff, Mrs. Thomas Norman and Mrs. Ralph Cameron; 2 brothers, Frank and James Scott, all of Wilkes Barre, Pa.; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
