About fifty friends of Mrs. Libbie Cronin, from Canadice, Honeoye and Hemlock met Monday afternoon at the Colt picnic grounds and gave her a surprise. The occasion was her sixty-ninth birthday.

The Obituary of William Cronin I

1858 - January 1920

From the Livonia Gazette, 6 February 1920.

Canadice - William Cronin, an old resident of this place, died at a hospital in Rochester last Friday at the age of 63.

Mr. Cronin and his twin brother, John, came to Canadice from England when they were 14 years of age. Mr. Cronin remained here after he came across, engaged, most of the time, in farming until a year or so ago, when he moved to Honeoye.

Of a family of five boys and two girls he was the last survivor, all of his brothers and sisters, as well as his parents, dying before they reached the age he attained.

He and his brother John were splendid singers and added to the enjoyment of many gatherings by their music. After John was gone his brother sang whenever called upon.

Will, as he was called by all, will be missed by many, for he was well known here.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mabel, of Rochester, with whom he and Mrs. Cronin had gone to spend the winter.

The funeral was held at Honeoye last Sunday and the burial was in Lakeview cemetery.

The Obituary of Elizabeth Struble Cronin

23 August 1857 - 8 June 1936

From the Wayland Register, 18 June 1936.

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Struble Cronin occurred at the Eastern Star Home at Oriskany on June 8th at 3:00 a.m. Mrs. Cronin had been in feeble health since she suffered a paralytic stroke several years ago. She had been an inmate of the home for a few years past, coming each summer to her home in Honeoye to spend the vacation months until last year when her health would not permit her making the journey.

Mrs. Cronin was the oldest daughter of Simeon and Hopey Huff Struble, and was born in Richmond August 23, 1857, later coming to Canadice where she lived until her marriage on January 6, 1881, to William Cronin, who came to Canadice from England.

Mr. and Mrs. Cronin settled in North Dakota. After a time they returned to Canadice and made their home here for many years, later living in Rochester and Honeoye.

Mr. Cronin’s death occurred in January, 1920, after which Mrs. Cronin made her home with her only child, Mrs. Mabel Cronin Colt, who passed away several years ago.

She is survived by a grandson, Leonard Colt, Jr.; a son-in-law and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Colt, and a brother, Herman Struble.

Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Colt at Honeoye on Wednesday.

Interment was made in Lake View Cemetery in Honeoye.
