The Obituary of Schuyler T. Holland

Springwater - Schuyler T. Holland of Springwater, the only surviving Springwater Spanish-American War veteran, died in Wayland Hospital Saturday night July 16.

He was 74. He wass a former clerk in the Springwater Postoffice and a member of th volunteer fire department here to which he was a president, secretary and treasurer and was a trustee at the time of his death. He also was a member of Kern-Robinson Post, American Legion, Springwater, and president of the Mt. Vernon Cemetery Association. He was a former member of the Livingston County Democratic Committee.

He leaves a son, Earl Holland, and a brother, Charles Holland, both of Miami, Fla.

From the Lima Recorder, 9 March 1933

Springwater - Mrs. Schuyler Holland, aged 52, of this village died very suddenly Sunday morning after a few days illness.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bray. She is survived by her husband and one son, Earle of Rochester.

Private funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday, the Rev. Mr. Holmes of the Methodist church officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Vernon Evergreen cemetery.
