The Obituary of Josiah C. Short II

Josiah C. Short died at his home Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of several months. Mr. Short was nearly 80 years old, and practically his whole life had been spent in Livonia.

He is survived by two daughters and one son - Mrs. J. D. Sullivan, Miss Millie, and Weller J. Short, whose home is at Vandalia, Mich.

The funeral will be held from the house Saturday at 2 o’clock.

Mr. Short was one of Livonia’s representative men. He was a man of high character and business ability and his death takes from the community a citizen of sterling worth.

Mrs. Josiah C. Short died at her home last Friday night after a long period of ill health, at the age of 76.

Mrs. Short was born and always lived in the house where she died, her father, Mr. Weller, having taken up residence there in 1809. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. St. John of Hemlock officiating.

Mrs. Short is survived by Mr. Short, one son, Weller, and two daughters - Mrs. J. D. Sullivan and Miss Millie.

A large circle of relatives and friends mourn her death.
