Mr. M. F. Adams died at his home in Naples Sunday afternoon, April 18th, after a brief illness of pleuro-pneumonia.
Mr. Adams was born in the town of East Bloomfield May 23d, 1840, the only son of Alvin H. and Polly Orcutt Adams, deceased.
His early life was spent in that vicinity, where he will be familiarly remembered as “Tip” Adams. In 1866 he was married to Miss Eliza M. Thayer of Canadice, who survives him; also three sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Riggs of Fenton, Mich.; Mrs. Sabra J. Andrews of East Bloomfield, and Miss Martha Thayer, whose home was with Mr. and Mrs. Adams. Several nieces adn nephews also survive him.
He will be missed by a large circle of friends and neighbors. His gentle, obliging manners and kindness to any in trouble made him generally beloved by all.
The funeral was held from his late home Tuesday at 3 p.m., the Rev. Mr. Moss of the M. E. church officiating. The burial was the following day at Canadice.

Mrs. Eliza Thayer Adams, widow of the late M. F. Adams, died at the home of Mrs. W. I. Johnson, in Lima, February 28, 1912, after an illness of five months. She is survived by one brother and two sisters, George W. Thayer, of Honeoye, N. Y.; Mrs. Seth Shepherdson, of Broken Bow, Neb., and Miss Martha A. Thayer, of Hornell.
Funeral services were held at Lima last Thursday and on Friday the remains were taken to Canadice for burial. For nearly thirty years Mr. and Mrs. Adams resided in Naples, where Mr. Adams died a few years since.
