Hemlock - On Friday the 16th inst. occurred the death of Mrs. Willis Adams of this place. The funeral was held from the M. E. church of which she had long been a member, at 1 p.m. Monday. Interment was made in Union cemetery at Livonia.
Mrs. Saloma Adams was born in the town of Howard, Steuben Co., Aug. 29, 1837. She was the daughter of Adam and Matilda Helmer Harter and one of a family of twelve children, six sons and six daughters.
She was married to Gilbert Glover in 1856, by which union three sons and three daughters were born all of whom survive. The father died in 1872. She was again married in 1878 to Willis Adams of Wayland, from which place they moved to this place in 1880 where they have since resided.
She is survived by her husband, three sons: Edgar of Canadice, Oren of Hemlock, and Ethan of Websters Crossing; three daughters: Mrs. Arthur Carpenter of Wayland, Mrs. Minnie McCrossen of Rochesster, and Mrs. Merritt McCrossen of Pittsford, 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: James Harter of Cohocton, and Samuel Harter of Elk Point South Dakota.
Her children have lost a kind and loving mother, and her husband a good and faithful wife.
