Springwater - Gardner William Agard of this place, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Costello, in the village of Wayland, Saturday afternoon, March 14, 1903, aged 59 years, 7 months and 7 days.
The funeral services were held at Wayland, today (Monday) at 10 o’clock a.m., under the direction of the G.A.R., of this place, of which he was a member.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Costello of Wayland, and Mrs. Edwin Stark of Geneseo, and one son, Ivan of this place, and a large circle of relatives and friends who mourn his sudden departure. The remains were brought her for interment in Mr. Vernon Evergreen cemetery.

Springwater - Mrs. Orpha Agard, wife of William Agard, died suddenly at the family residence in the western part of this village Tuesday morning, May 1st, aged 58 years.
Deceased had been in feeble health from a complication of diseases for a considerable time, but, possessing an ambitious nature, had kept about doing her work until near the hour of her death. On Sunday, two days before her death she attended the morning services at the M. E. church and in conversation with her many friends expressed her thankfulness on being able to be there.
Mrs. Agard had been a devoted Christian since early in life and had always been an earnest worker in the church and Sabbath school and was a fine bible scholar. In her home life she was a devoted wife, and a kind mother. She leaves a husband, one son Ivan, two daughters, Edith, and Blanche, wife of Edwin Stark of this place, and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. church on Thursday at 2 o’clock p.m. Rev. A. W. Decker speaking from Mat. 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” The bearers were Jas. G, Morris, Chester Barber, Frank Johnson, Wm. Snyder, Frank Sandford, Sr., Char. Mack. Interment in Mt. Vernon Evergreen cemetery.
