The Obituary of Wilbur W. Capron

From the Wayland Register, 23 September 1964.

A burial service was conducted in the Village Cemetery here Saturday for Wilbur W. Capron, who died unexpectedly Wednesday (Sept. 16, 1964) in New York City.

A funeral sevice was held Friday in New York City. The Rev. Henry Masman officiated at the commital service.

He was born in Wayland, a son of Wiley W. and Sally Wintersmith Capron. He was a graduate of Wayland High School, Harvard School of Business, and Syracuse University, where he was coxswain of the varsity crew.

Most of his career was spent in New York City, where he was retired from the Standard and Poors Corp.

He was an elder of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and a member of the Harvard Club.

He also served in World War I.

Survivors include his widow, Ruth Kent Capron of New York; a brother Theodore J. Capron of Wayland; three nieces and one nephew.
