The Obituary of Fayette Coykendall 20 October 1849 - 2 October 1896 From the Livonia Gazette, 9 October 1896 Fayette Coykendall, a son of Levi Coykendall, died last Friday afternoon, after a protracted sickness, at the age of 48, leaving a widow, a son and a daughter. The funeral, which was held from his late residence Sunday afternoon, was largely attended, the Rev. Mr. Barber of this village conducting the solemn and impressive services. He had been almost a life-long resident of the town of Canadice. His kindness of heart made him a large circle of friends, and his death is sincerely mourned by the entire community.

Obituary of Bertha Sharpsteen Coykendall 1860 - October 1928 From the Wayland Register, 18 October 1928 Canadice - Mrs. Bertha Coykendall, a former resident of Canadice, died in the Warsaw hospital Sunday after a lingering illness. Mrs. Coykendall was formerly Miss Bertha Sharpsteen and was married to Fayette Coykendall of this town and resided here for several years, later living in Hemlock. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Pratt Blank, of Hemlock, and a stepson, Harry Coykendall, of Rochester. The funeral was held at the Hemlock M. E. Church Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock. Interment was in the Canadice Hollow cemetery.
