The Darron homestead in Canadice NY circa 1906.

The homestead is believed to have been built by Thomas Doolittle, who passed the house to his son Barak Doolittle. Barak sold the house to George W. Affolter who sold it to William J. Darron in 1906. The Darron family lived there until circa 1918 when they moved to Rush NY.

Canadice - The death of William Darron occurred at his home in Rush last week Wednesday.

Mr. Darron and family were residents at Canadice from 1906 until 1917. They made many friends, who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mrs. Darron died in April 1953. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Schuyler White of Rush, Mrs. Fred Morey of Avon, a son, Ward, of Rush, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon with interent in Pine Hill Cemetery, Rush.

Mr. and Mrs Everett Affolter attended the funeral.

The Obituary of Bertha A. Ward Darron

Canadice - Word was received here Sunday of the death of Mrs. Bertha Ward Darron of Rush, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Schuyler White, in Rush.

Mrs. Darron was the wife of William Darron. They resided for several years in Canadice, where they were active in the church and Ladies Aid, of which she was president for a time.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Darron leaves two daughters, Mrs. Erma White and Mrs. Jeanette Moore, and one son, Ward, all of Rush; also 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Rush Methodist Church with interment in Rush cemetery. The family have the sympathy of their many Canadice friends.
