Edwin Doolittle, who died at his home in Springwater June 28, after an illness extending over several months, was born in Canadice fifty-four years ago, and lived among us until he grew to manhood.
He married Emma Eldridge of this lace, and after a time they moved to the town of Springwater, where he engaged in business.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ellen White; one brother, William of Rochester; one sister, Mrs. Ida Struble of Canadice, and many other relatives.
The funeral was held from the home last Friday, the Rev. Mr. Stackhouse of Wayland officiating.
Burial was in Springwater cemetery. The Masonic order had charge of the services at the grave.
Edwin Doolittle, of Springwater, after an illness of several months, died on June 28, 1922. He was born in Canadice 54 years ago, and lived here until he grew to manhood, marrying Miss Emma Eldridge, a Canadice girl. After a time he and his wife moved to Springwater, and adjoining town, where he went into business. For a number of years he has dealt in automobiles and supplies, also doing repair work. He never lost touch with his native town, and had many friends here as well as in Springwater. He was always pleasant, meeting all with a happy smile, being kind and courteous in all his relations in life. He will be greatly missed in the home and surrounding community.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ellen White, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Struble, of Canadice, and a brother, William Doolittle of Rochester, and a large circle of other relatives.
The funeral was held from the home at 2 p.m. on June 30th, Rev. W. A. Stackhouse, of Wayland, officiating. Burial was made in Springwater cemetery. The services at the cemetery were conducted by the Masonic Order, of which Mr. Doolittle was a member.

Canadice - Mrs. Harold White was suddenly bereaved in the loss of her mother, Mrs. Emma Eldridge Doolittle at 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, who had been confined to her bed only since Thursday evening.
Emma Doolittle was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eldridge of Canadice, and the widow of the late E. W. Doolittle, a prominent business man in this village for many years.
While Mrs. Doolittle was known to be in declining health her sudden demise was unexpected and her death came as a great shock to her family and friends. Especially heavy is the blow to her only child, who has always lived with her mother and in each other’s companionship they had been happy.
Mrs. Doolittle was born in Canadice in 1870 and was married to Mr. Doolittle in 1891. She was a devoted mother, a sincere Christian and will be sadly missed by relatives and friends.
An only child, Ellen Doolittle White, and two grandchildren, Maxine and Warren C. White, and a brother, William Eldridge of Canadice are the near relatives surviving.
Rev. H. D. Tubbs of the M. E. church officiated at the funeral which took place at the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with burial in Mt. Vernon Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Emma Eldridge Doolittle, aged 54, died at her home in Springwater on Sunday morning, April 19, 1925, after a short illness.
Her husband, Edwin Doolittle, died three years ago. She and her husband were Canadice people, having been born there and lived in this vicinity all of their earlier years.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ellen White, and two grandchildren, of Springwater; one brother, W. B. Eldridge, of Canadice.
The funeral was held from the home on Tuesday, April 21, Rev. Mr. Tubbs, pastor of the M. E. Church, of which she was a member, officiating.
Burial was in Springwater.
