The sudden death, Thursday, of Miss Lena Dubois was not only a shock to her many relatives and friends, but to the whole community.
Miss Dubois had worked at the Cannon & Miller factory in the forenoon and had come home with a headache, telling her aunt, Mrs. Densmore, that she did not care for any dinner. Taking a hot water bottle she went to her room, requesting her aunt also not to call her until supper time. She frequently had severe headaches, and a few hours rest seemed to restore her, and as requested Mrs. Densmore did not call her until supper was ready, and not getting any response to her numerous calls she went up to her room and found her dead.
Miss Dubois was the daughter of Frank and Adella Dubois and was born in Omaha, Neb., Dec. 7, 1886. When six years old her parents died and she came to live with her father’s sister, Mrs. H. H. Densmore.
Miss Dubois was of a kind and loving disposition, with many friends, who will be pained to learn of her sudden death. For about two years she had served as local editor of this page and was a conscientious, hard working representative, with the interests of her work and the community at heart at all times.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Streeter of Schenectady, Mrs. Ella Ruble of Buffalo and Miss Francis Hoffman of Albany, also by her aunt, Mrs. Densmore and a cousin, Edward Densmore of Rochester.
The funeral was held at the house Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. J. W. Brown, assisted by Rev. W. W. Dailey and Rev. J. E. Tailant officiating. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
