Corfu - George E. Elliott, 68, of Springwater, former principal of Corfu High School, died at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester on Monday, (January 3, 1944), where he had been a patient for several weeks owing to a heart condition. He had been kept under an oxygen tent some of the time.
Mr. Elliott taught at Corfu for four years, leaving here in 1907 to become principal at Manchester, later going to Elmsford, Westchester County, where he remained until his retirement some time ago. Mrs. Nellie Capron Elliott, his wife, died several years ago.
Surviving are a son, Edwin Elliott, and two grandchildren in Rochester and a brother, Dr. John Elliott of Manchester.
Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Hedges Funeral Home, in Rochester.

Mrs. Nellie Capron Elliott, died at her home in Springwater Friday following an illness of only two days. Mrs. Elliot, who was 63 years of age, had spent the early part of her life and the past few years in Springwater. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Edwin.
Funeral services were held at her late home Monday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. H. I. Chattin officiating. Burial was in Mount Vernon Evergreen cemetery.
The funeral was largely attended, among those from out-of-town being Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, III, of New York. Mr. and Mrs. Pratt and Dr. Elliott and a party of friends from Manchester, Eugene Capron from Tarrytown, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Capron from Shortsville, Miss Marion Capron from Hornell and Leonard Capron of Rochester.
