Wayland - Ethan G. Glover, 59, died at his home on West Naples street in this village at 4 o’clock Wednesday morning. Mr. Glover suffered a shock about the middle of June, but recovered sufficiently to be about up to the time of his death, the immediate cause of which was due to his heart. Mr. Glover was born in Wayland, March 27, 1871, the son of Gilbert and Saloma Glover. At the age of eight he, with his parents, removed to Canadice. His education was acquired at Lima Seminary and Geneseo Normal.
In 1896 he was married to Mary Richardson. Teaching was his profession for twenty-five years in many of the district schools of Steuben and Livingston counties. The family have made their home in Wayland for the past sixteen years, where Mr. Glover has been well known in the educational, political and business activities of the town. He was a member of the local Methodist church. Some years ago he served on the local school board, being president of the same.
He is survived by his widow; one daughter Mrs. Gladys Hamlin, of Binghamton; three sons, Glen and Willis of Rochester and Elwin of Buffalo; two grand children of Rochester; and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Carpenter of Wayland.
Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist Episcopal church, Dr. Williamson officiating. Burial will be at Livonia.

Wayland - Mrs. Mary Glover, 62, widow of Ethan Glover, a former resident of this village, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lindley Hamlin, in Oneonta Sunday morning, following a short illness.
Mrs. Glover was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Richardson and was born in the town of Canadice.
Following her marriage to Mr. Glover the resided at Webster’s Crossing for some years, later moving to this village.
Mr. Glover died October 22, 1930, and since that time Mrs. Glover had made her home with her children.
Besides the daughter mentioned she is survived by three sons, Glen of Olean, Willis of Shawnee-on-the-Delaware, Pa., and Elwin of Buffalo; five grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends.
The remains were brought to Wayland and funeral services were held at the funeral home of Rodney Stanton Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. F. W. Duhl officiating and burial was at Livonia.
Canadice - Mary A. Richardson Glover, widow of the late Ethan Glover, died at the home of her daugther, Mrs. Gladys Hamlin, in Oneonta. She was born here in 1874, the daughter of Hiram and Augusta Richardson.
The funeral was held in Wayland last Tuesday with burial at Livonia.
Other surviving children are William of Pennsylvania, Glen of Olean and Edwin of Buffalo.
