Canadice - Another home has been made lonely, and another kind young voice is hushed here forever.
Marcus, aged eighteen, the eldest son of James Hoaland, died Saturday, the 7th inst., of dropsy and Bright’s disease of the kidneys.
Being naturally of a joyous disposition Marcus had won many friends, who keenly feel his loss. He never made an open profession of a change of heart, yet during his sickness he took great pleasure in reading his Bible, and gave evidence by his manner that he had made his peace with God, and patiently waited his summon.
Just five months previous, Mr. Hoagland buried his eldest daughter, (the wife of Gilbert Owen) and now but two tender branches remain of the happy family of four children, only a few weeks ago.
But the bereaved parents mourn not as those with no hope, but can look forward to a blessed reunion where death scenes never come.
The Rev. R. T. Hancock preached the funeral sermon on Sunday, the 8th inst., from Matthew, 25th chapter, and the last clause of the tenth verse.
