The Obituary of Carl Ingraham

1904 - 27 October 1907

From the Cohocton Times, October 1907

Springwater - At 8 o’clock Sunday morning, October 27, 1907, occurred the death of little Carl Ingraham, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ingraham at their home on North Main street, this village, from enteritis, aged 3 years, 3 months and 23 days.

He had been sick only a few days and was watched over continually by his parents and also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Ingraham and everything was done that medical skill and careful nursing could suggest to stay the arrows of death, but to no avail, and at the hour mentioned he passed quietly to the world of spirits.

Little Carl was an unusually bright child and was beloved by every one who knew him. His parents and grandparents to whom he was bound by the tenderest ties, have the sincere sympathy of this community in their sad bereavement.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2 o’clock, p.m. Interment in Mt. Vernon Evergreen cemetery.
