A. Duane Jackman II Injured

From the Cohocton Index, 9 August 1899

Springwater - A. Duane Jackman, son of A. G. Jackman of this place, received a severe injury and a narrow escape from death this afternoon on his father’s farm in Canadice.

He was drawing some bags of oats from the threshing machine in the field to the granary and the load being too heavy for the team to ascend a hill t that place he removed some of the bags, and taking one horse by the bit led him along to the building and in some way his head was caught between the rack and corner of the building breaking the lower jaw on the right side.

He was immediately taken to his home and Drs. Knickerbocker and Hunt summoned and the fracture reduced. Had the team moved a few inches further he would have met with instant death.

The Obituary of Albert D. Jackman

18 April 1882 - 11 February 1939

From the Wayland Register, 9 March 1939

Springwater - Relatives here have received word of the unexpected death of A. Duane Jackman at his home in Lake Forest, Illinois, on February 11, 1939, after an illness of twenty-four hours.

Mr. Jackman will be remembered by many friends here, as he spent his boyhood days in this community, being the youngest son of the late A. G. Jackman.

He married Miss Grace Taylor of Lake Forest, where he has resided for over thirty years, having held the office of city collector for a number of years and where he won the love and esteem of all who knew him, and his sudden death comes to everyone with sadness.

Besides the wife, he is survived by two daughters, Anna Louise and Mary Elizabeth; also on half-sister, Mrs. Carrie Eldridge of this place.
