Thomas J. Maginley, who would have been 61 years of age next Sunday, died suddenly yesterday afternoon while working on his farm in Sparta. Mr. Maginley was found stricken by a shock by his wife, Mrs. May Maginley at about 11 a.m. and died at three o’clock. He had been working with a team. Although his health was not regarded as good, he had been able to do some farm work.
Before moving to his Sparta farm, he had been associated with the creamery at Scottsburg for about ten years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. May Maginley, two sons, Clyde R. of Canaseraga and Claire J. of Mount Kisco, four grand-daughters, one brother, Claire Maginlely of Sparta and one sister, Mrs. Reed May of Scotsburg. He was a member of the Springwater Grange.
Funeral services will be held from the home on Thursday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. Frank White of Scottsburg will officiate. Burial will be made in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg.
Funeral services for Thomas J. Maginley were held from the home in West Sparta yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Frank White of Scottsburg officated. There were many friends and relatives in attendance at the service, and many beautiful flowers expressing respect for Mr. Maginley and sympathy for the family.
Bearers were Charles Burdick, Heman Miller, James Mannton, Gordon Clemmons, Walter Sterner, M. D. Clenmons.
Burial was made in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg.
Those from out-of-town came from Ulysses, Pa., Almond, Hornell, South Livonia, Canisteo, Canaseraga, Rochester and Mount Morris.

Dansville - Mrs. May Maginley, 69, widow of Thomas J. Maginley, died yesterday in the home of her son, Clyde Maginley, in Canaseraga after a long illness.
She was born in Canadice and had lived in Sparta and Scottsburg.
Surviving are another son, Claire Maginley of Danbury, Conn., with whom she had spent the winter; three brothers, Herbert Becker of Dansville, Jay of Canadice and Reed Becker of Holcomb, and one sister, Mrs. Solon Agard of Rochester.
Mrs. May Becker Maginley, widow of Thomas J. Maginley, died last Wednesday at the home of her son, Clyde Maginley, in Canaseraga after a long illness.
Born in Canadice, she had lived in Sparta and Scottsburg and had spent the past winter with her other son, Claire Maginley, in Danbury, Conn. She was 58 years old. She was a member of Springwater Grange and the Willing Workers of Scottsburg M. E. church.
Besides her two sons and three grandchildren, she is survived by three brothers, Herbert Becker of Dansville, Jay of Canadice and Reed Becker of Holcomb; also one sister, Mrs. Solon Agard of Rochester.
The funeral services were held Saturday at the home of Clyde Maginley in Canaseraga at 1:15 p.m. and at the M. E. church in Scottsburg at 3:00 p.m., the Rev. Frank White officiating. Interment was made at Scottsburg.
