Olin G. Mather of Hemlock died in Genesee hospital, Rochester, Sunday, April 8, after an illness of about 10 days. He had been in poor health for four or five years, but had been carrying on as usual until about 10 days ago when he was taken worse and was finally persuaded to go to the hospital for treatment. He died there, unexpectedly, Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Mather was born Feb. 24, 1885, in Dixon’s Hollow, in the town of Livonia, the son of Grove W. and Phyla Doolittle Mather. He was married 35 years ago last August to Gladys Richardson of Canadice and they lived in Dixon’s Hollow until 1917 when they moved to the village of Hemlock.
He was a member of the Livonia town board for several years and was also a former member of the Hemlock school board.
Beside his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henry Roome of Hemlock and Mrs. Hugh Morrison of Rochester; two sons, Grove W. of Buffalo, Lt. George of the army air force, Perry Field, Fla.; a sister, Miss Helen Mather of Minneapolis, Minn., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at Reed’s Funeral home, Washington street, Livonia with the Rev. Donald Hausser, pastor of Hemlock Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Curtis cemetery, Richmond, NY.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1970 for Gladys P. Mather, formerly of Hemlock who died in Rochester, Feb. 23, 1970.
Mrs. Mather was born Mar. 2, 1883 in Perry. She was the daughter of George and Victoria West Richardson, and was the widow of Olin G. Mather.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Olive) Roome, Minneapolis, Minn., Miss Beryl Mather of Rochester; two sons, Grove W. Mather, Williamsville, and George R. Mather of Newark, Del.; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Dennis Borst officiated.
Interment was at the convenience of the family in Curtis (Purcell) Cemetery, Richmond.
