Springwater - John R. Schultz, 58, former town official, died Wednesday June 25, 1952 at his home here on East Hill Road following and extended illness.
An active Republican leader, Schultz had served as town supervisor for two terms beginning in 1935 and had also been justice of the peace, and highway superintendent.
He was a life time resident of this vicinity and owned and operated a hardware store here for twenty years. During World War II he was an employee of Curtis Wright Company in Buffalo.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna Clayson Schultz; three sons, John C. of Buffalo, Harold of Altadona, Calif; and Jene at home; three grandchildren and a half sister, Mrs. Mattie Burd of Andover.
Funeral services were held at the residence June 28 with the Rev. E. J. Daniels officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Vernon Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Anna M. Schultz, 79, of Springwater died Sunday (July 6, 1980) in the Avon Nursing Home following a long illness.
A native and life resident of Springwater, she and her late husband had owned and operated a hardware store for many years. She was also employed for many years as a monitor at Wayland Central School.
She was a member of the Springwater United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary there.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene “Jene” T. Schultz of Wayland, John C. Schultz of Buffalo and Harold Schultz of Sparks, Nev.; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted yesterday in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home, Wayland. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater.
