Alvin H. Van Scooter, 66, of Webster Crossing died Saturday (Feb. 21, 1981) in Noyes Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of the Webster Crossing and Springwater area and was a retired employe of the former Erie Railroad. He also was employed at the Progressive Foundry Inc. at Lakeville. Mr. VanScooter was a member of the Springwater Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Stone of Geneseo, Mrs. Cora Young of Webster Crossing and Mrs. Ruth McAfee of York; three brothers, Howard, Clifford and James, all of Webster Crossing; nieces and nephews.
A service was conducted in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home, Wayland, Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in Erwin Cemetery, Webster Crossing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Webster Crossing Methodist Church or the Springwater Ambulance Fund.
