The Marriage of Bert VanScooter and Amy C. Bernhardt October 1929 From the Livonia Gazette, 4 October 1929 Webster Crossing - Bert VanScooter and Miss Amy Bernhardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bernhardt, were married at the Methodist parsonage by the Rev. M. H. Holmes Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCabe, uncle and aunt of the groom, were the attendants. They will reside on the bride’s father’s farm on Marrowback. |

The Obituary of Bert VanScooter May 1886 - 14 March 1971 Springwater Party Line, March 1971 Sympathy is extended to the family of Bert VanScooter, age 86, of Webster Crossing, who passed away Sunday at Dansville Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Amy, one daughter, Miss Helen VanScooter of Rochester. Three sons, John, Albert and Robert of Conesus and two brothers, Earl of Rochester and Fred of Webster Crossing. He had nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Baird Funeral Home in Wayland with burial in Erwin Cemetery. |
The Obituary of Amy C. Bernhardt VanScooter 29 October 1907 - 6 December 1991 From the Genesee Country Express, 12 December 1991 Amy C. VanScooter, 84, of the Conesus-Springwater Road (Route 15) died Friday (Dec. 6, 1991) in Noyes Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1907, she was married to Bert VanScooter who died in 1971. She was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Websters Crossing. She was predeceased by a son, Ray, in 1967. Surviving are three sons, John of Springwater, Albert of Maine and Robert of Conesus; a daughter, Helen VanScooter of Rochester; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A service was conducted Monday morning in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home of Wayland with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Burial was in Erwin Cemetery, Websters Crossing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livonia Ambulance Fund. |
