Springwater - The funeral of Mark G. Walker, a highly respected citizen of this village, was held from his late home, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. W. J. McGavern of Wayland, officiating.
Mr. Walker’s death, which occurred early Monday morning was not unexpected as he had been in failing health for some time.
He was a son of William and Mercy Gates Walker, and was born on the old Walker homestead on Strutt Street in the town of Springwater 58 years ago.
June 16, 1880, he was united in marriage to Margaret Staley. They resided on the Julian Morris place, just north of this village until a few years ago, when forced by ill health, they gave up farming and moved into the village where they have since resided.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children: Mrs. Burton Stuart and Mrs. Perry Hultz of this village, John of Rochester, and Lewis of Wayland, also one sister and two brothers, Mrs. D. P. Rogers and Frank and Judson Walker, all of Wayland.

Mrs. Margaret Walker, a well known resident of this section for many years, died at her home near the Bell school house Monday night at the age of 68 years. Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Issac and Mary Staley and was born in Johnstown, NY.
She was the widow of the late Mark G. Walker and is survived by two sons and two daughters, Louie and John Walker, Mrs. Burton Stuart and Mrs. Perry Hultz, all of the town of Springwater; also by one sister, Mrs. Briggs, of Honeoye.
Funeral services will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Walker this afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will be in the Ashley cemetery.
