It was a real family gathering when Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wesley of West Batavia were “surprised” on their 60th wedding anniversary, Nov. 1950.

West Batavia - Mr. and Mrs. Fayette Wesley and family entertained 21 at a family gathering at their home Sunday as a surprise to Mr. Wesley’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wesley, who reside with them, in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley have two children besides the son with whom they reside. They are Mrs. Ruth Brandin of Honeoye Falls and Murray Wesley of Honeoye; also six grandchildren. Mrs. Fred Ellis of Syracuse Charles Wesley of Hemlock, Mrs. Gladys Mann of Honeoye and David, Terry and Elaine Wesley of West Batavia, and four great-grandchildren. Marilyn and Janet Ellis of Syracuse and Donald and Richard Wesley of Hemlock, all of who were present for the celebration. Also present were Mrs. Murray Wesley, Fred Ellis, Mrs. Charles Wesley and John Belcher of Allen’s Hill and Mrs. Dorothy Baldwin of Batavia.
Mr. Wesley, who celebrated his 81st birthday anniversary last Feb. 16th, was born in the town of Richmond, a son of the late William and Julia Calkins Wesley. Mrs. Wesley, who will observe her 79th birthday anniversary Thursday, was born at South Bristol, a daughter of the late Fayette and Flora Sutton Ingraham.
They were married at Bristol Center Oct. 29, 1890, and spent most of their married live, before coming to West Batavia, at Honeoye.
