Joint School District No. 2 of the towns of Canadice, Livonia, and Richmond was set up in 1809, and was located on Canadice Lake Road not far from the north town line.

The property was deeded to Henry McCrossen, trustee of the district, by D. D. Hoppough in 1864. Betsey Walker was the first teacher. From this time until about 1880 there are no records to show what took place. We would assume that school was carried on from year to year.

Following are the names of the trustees and teachers who kept the school going until 1930, when the school was closed and the pupils were transported to Hemlock High School.

Teachers: Zoe Wetmore, Gilbert Owen, Alta Cole, Ethan Glover, Ellen Mather, Mike Costello, Charles Doolittle, Will McKay, Mary Richardson, Nancy Lahey, Kathrine Powers, Kathryn Bray, May Purcell, Jennie DeGraff, Phoebe Gibbs, Gertrude Roberts, Helen Reese, Bessie Cornish, Doris Coykendall, Mrs. Tooke.

Trusttees: Henry McCrossen, George Sharpsteen, David Hoppough, Robert Sharpsteen, Fayette Coykendall, Nixon McCrossen, Grover Mather, Edson Daniels, Harry Coykendall, Orren Purcell, Haskall Smith, Edgar Glover, T. H. Ingraham, Wells Purcell, Robert Wemett, Ira Snyder, Roy Swan, Destie Swan.

Robert Wemett was the bus driver until the district was centralized with Honeoye Central School in 1947. In 1947 the school property was sold to John and Jean Banning of Rochester N.Y. The deed was signed by Mrs. Destie Swan, who was trustee at that time

Some of the old timers in the school district were: Gus Shepard, Capt. Henry Wemett, William Struble, B. H. Burch, Thomas Costello and Levy Coykendall.
