Gideon Harder, Sr., 77, of Hemlock die on the way to Strong Memorial Hospital Tuesday evening, Apr. 7, following a sudden illness at his home.
Mr. Harder was born in a log cabin on Marrowback in 1876, the son of William and Catherine Smith Harder. He was a farmer for many years, adn then carried on a threshing business.
Mr. Harder is survived by his wife, Ina Smith Harder; two sons, Kennard and William Gideon; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Knapp of Hemlock and Mrs. Robrt Patchin of Detroit; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at the Brown Funeral Home, Friday, Apr. 10, at 2 p.m. with burial in the Union Cemetery, Livonia.

Hemlock - We were sorry to discover through the Rochester morning paper on Sunday of the passing of Mrs. Gideon Harder, long time resident of this village.
A good neighbor, a kind friend and helper in time of need - she will be sadly missed by many.
