A funeral service will be conducted in the Baird Funeral Home, Wayland, at 2 p.m. today for Edmund J. Miller Sr., 83, of Springwater who died Tuesday, 17 August 1971 in Wayland.
Mr. Miller moved to Springwater from Buffalo in 1919 and started the Cannon and Miller Co. partnership there which operated until dissolved in 1930. He then formed the Miller Manufacturing Co. which he operated until his retirement in 1958.
He was a member of the Springwater United Methodist Church; Warren Patching Lodge 883, F.and A.M.; and was charter member of the Springwater Fire Department.
Surviving are a son, Edmund J. Miller of Addison; two daughters, Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Wambold of Rochester and Mrs. John (Betty) Goodell of Springwater; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Masonic memorial service was conducted in the funeral home last evening. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Springwater.
Sympathy is extended to the family and relative of Edmund Mller, Sr., age 83, who passed away at the Kline Nursing Home in Wayland last Tuesday.
Mr. Miller and his late wife, Ethel were owners of the Miller Lure Co. until he retired in 1958. He was a charter member of the Springwater Fire Co. and was a former Fire Commissioner. He also held the office of Justice of the Peace, Town of Springwater several years ago.
He is survived by a son, Edmund Jr., of Addison, 2 daughters, Mrs. Betty Goodell of Springwater and Mrs. Dorothy Wambold of Rochester.
Funeral services were held Thursday.

A funeral service was conducted Tuesday in the Baird Funeral Home, Wayland, for Mrs. Ethel Miller, 72, of Springwater who died Saturday 7 October 1967.
Mrs. Miller was a native of Buffalo but had resided in Springwater for the past 50 years. She and her husband, Edmund, had operated the Miller Mfg. Co. in Springwater since 1929.
She was a member of Wawanta Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Betty Goodell of Springwater and Mrs. Dorothy Wambold of Rochester; a son, Edmund Jr. of Addison; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frances Wyman of Deerfield Beach, Fla.
The Rev. Raymond Horan of the Springwater Methodist Church officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater.
