A former Dansville area man, Clair V. Wambold, 74, of West Bloomfield and Englewood, Fla., died unexpectedly Thursday (May 12, 1988).
He was born Mar. 1, 1914, a son of Heman Jay and Mary Jane Pifer Wambold. He graduated from Geneseo Normal School in 1935 and taught school for several years before joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation, beginning a 31-year career.
Mr. Wambold married Dorothy Miller of Springwater on July 2, 1937. Also surviving are two daughters, Shirley Walker and Sharon King of Rochester; two brothers, Glenn of Harrisburg, Pa. and Perry of Scottsburg; a sister, Grace Lown of Dansville; five grand-children; nieces and nephews.
A service was conducted in the Miller Funeral Home of Rochester with the Rev. Walter B. Reed officiating. Burial was in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Springwater.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9th, 11 AM at the Episcopal Church Home (505 Mt. Hope Ave.). Interment will be held privately at Mt. Vernon Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater, NY.
