The Obituary of Leslie W. Paine

Canadice - Leslie W. Paine died at his home, Canadice Hill road, Canadice, on Dec. 25, 1969 after a long illness. He was born Nov. 23, 1891 in West Berry, NY the son of Emory and Martha Waterman Paine.

Mr. Paine was a member of the Canadice United Methodist Church; a 50-year member of the Honeoye Grange; 25 years as a Justice of the Peace, 12 years as an assessor in the Town of Canadice. He graduated in 1912 from the Genesee Weslyan Seminary.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Doolittle Paine; two sons, Stephen and Norman, all of Canadice; one daughter, Mrs. Ellen Miksic of Hemlock; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Parson, Ossining, Miss Mildred Anne Paine, Ashville, NC, Mrs. Clara Otis, White Plains, ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Sunday afternoon in the Canadice United Methodist Church with the Rev. Melvin, Thomas officiating. Interment was in Canadice Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by Brown Funeral Home, 20 Washington St., Livonia.
