Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Paul of East Bloomfield will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 2 t0 5 o’clock on Sunday, January 29th, at their home at 24 Main St.
Miss Hazel Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Collins of Livonia, became the bride of Ralph Paul, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Paul, also of Livonia, on January 31st 1917. The wedding took place at the parsonage of the Methodist Church at Hemlock with the Rev. Grover C. Bucher officiating.
After residing in the Livonia and West Bloomfield area, they purchased their present home here in 1943.
Mr. Paul, a carpenter by trade, was employed by Cartwright and Morrison for more than 25 years. Mrs. Paul is a member of the Bloomfield Rebekah Lodge and of the First Congregational Church.
The couple have five children who are planning the anniversary celebration. They are Mrs. Kenneth (Lucille) Sanderson of Rochester; Mrs. Robert (Marian) White and Mrs. Leonard (Jeanette) Wesley, both of Holcomb. Mrs. Lewis (Thelma) Buckman of Honeoye Falls and John W. Paul of Cincinnati, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Paul has a sister, Mrs. Irwin Wiedrick of Chicago, Ill. and a brother, Harold Paul of Richmond. Mrs. Paul has two sisters, Mrs. Donald Rogers of Buffalo and Mrs. Howard Beach of Livonia Center, and a brother, Earl Collins of Hemlock.
