The death of Isaac Smith Purcell occurred at his home Monday afternoon, the direct cause of which was gangrene, that came from an injury to his foot several years ago.
The recent attack of the disease defied medical skill and care, and his suffering which he had bravey endured for seven weeks were intense.
Mr. Purcell was born Nov. 28, 1836 in the town of Canadice. He married Miss Lucy Briggs Nov. 26, 1868.
Mrs. Purcell, one son George E., and one adopted daughter Mrs. Floyd Coykendall survive him. One son, John Purcell died Apr. 30, 1889.
