Burl B. Walker, 84, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at his home after a long illness.
Burl was born May 13, 1918 in Springwater, a son of Erwin and Maude (Smart) Walker. He was a graduate of Wayland High School.
He married Marian Warner on April 14, 1944 in Springwater. She survives.
He was the owner and operator of the Walker Family Farm in Springwater until his recent retirement.
Burl was an active member of tbe Springwater United Methodist Church. He had been active for years in many agricultural organizations, as well as the Springwater Ambulance Corps and Springwater town government.
Burl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian; his sons Richard (Suzanne) Walker of Newfield, N.Y., and Donald (Mary Ann) and Mark (Susan), both of Wayland; seven grand-children: Donna, Doug and Treva, Sean and Matthew, and Cathy and Dan; one brother, Erwin (Rosemary) Walker of Wayland; and other family members: Frances Walker, Elsie Wallace, Ardean and Virginia Warner as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends called Saturday, 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 100 E. Naples St., Wayland. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday at the Springwater United Methodist Church, Pastor Peg Kaleh officiating. Burial was in Ashley Cemetery, Springwater.

Marian W. Walker, age 95, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her home.
Marian was born April 7, 1923 in Wayland, a daughter of Maynard & Mildred (Keeler) Warner.
She was a graduate of Wayland High School and attended business school for a year. Marian married Burl B. Walker on April 14, 1944; he predeceased her on October 18, 2002. Marian was a Study Hall Monitor and Asst. Librarian at Wayland Central School for many years. In addition to her parents & husband, she was also predeceased by a son, Richard Walker in 2006; and two brothers, Milford “Bud” Warner & Ardean Warner.
Marian was an active member of the Springwater United Methodist Church, a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Springwater Grange, the Lowell Club, a leader of the Flying Fingers 4-H Club of Steuben County and a previous board member of the Steuben Co. Co-op Extension and a founding member of the Springwater-Webster Crossing Historical Society.
She enjoyed knitting, making quilts, and sewing clothing for her children & grandchildren, also baking, especially Cinnamon Rolls, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, her daughter-in-law, 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister and a sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Burial will be in Ashley Cemetery, Springwater.
