Wayland - This community was greatly shocked Tuesday by the sudden death of Erwin Walker at his home near the Bell schoolhouse, northeast of this village.
Mr. Walker had been in poor health since last fall, but recently there had been a marked improvement in his condition and his family had felt greatly encouraged.
He had been a life-long resident of this vicinity, a successful farmer, and was a man greatly respected and with many friends. His age was 45 years.
He is survived by his wife and nine children, all living at home, to whom he was greatly devoted; his mother Mrs. Alma Walker of this village; two sisters, Mrs. Dale Shaver and Mrs. L. J. Harvey. The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
The funeral will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and burial will be in the Ashley cemetery.
