Last Saturday, upon petition of the three sons of Fredrick Westbrook, Walter, Fred and Wallace, a trustee was appointed in the courts at Hemlock Lake, to care for his farm in Canadice. Mr. Westbrook is a pensioner of the war of 1812 and resides with his son Walter at Hemlock Lake. He has accumulated considerable property, but is so old that he does not wish to bother with real estate and readily consented to the appointment of a trustee, making the selection of Willard P. Smith of Richmond. He retains the control of his personal property, and the income of his farm contributes to his support. He visits the post office regularly every morning, driving his own horse and buggy, and although very deaf, he gets around quite well. The old gentleman never wore spectacles, for the reason, he says, that he could never find them old enough for him.
