Marriage of Ora M. Ace and Leah A. Becker

From the Livonia Gazette, 8 July 1937

Canadice - A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Becker, when their youngest daughter, Leah Arlene, became the bride of Mr. Ora Ace, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ace, on Saturday, July 3, at 4 o’clock.

Mrs. Mabel Coykendall, sister of the groom, sang “I Love You Truly,” and as the Wedding March from “Lohengrin” was played by Mrs. Jay Becker, the bride with her sister, Miss Ruth Becker, as maid of honor and Ruth Eldridge as flower girl took their places on a carpet of rose petals before an arch of corn flowers and pink roses.

The groom was attended by his brother, Woodrow Ace. The Rev. George Nelson of Hemlock, a former pastor, officiated.

The bride and maid of honor carried arm bouquets of Frau Kaul Druschri and American Beauty roses, delphinium and ferns. The flower girl carried a basket of Pride of Rochester roses and corn flowers. The bride’s dress was of blue lace over blue satin.

The maid of honor wore pink mousseleine de sore and the flower girl pink organdie. The color scheme, pink and blue, was carried out with roses and mixed blue flowers.

The bride is a graduate of Atlanta High School and training class and also of the Geneseo Normal Class of ‘36. The groom is a well-known, highly-regarded farmer of this place.

After a delicious buffet luncheon, served by Allthea Treble, Barbara and Mina Preston, the bride and groom left for a trip to the Thousand Islands. They will make their home on the former Swartz farm after July 14.

They have the best wishes of their many friends.
