Leonard C. Briggs, 75 year of 5168 Marrowback Rd., Hemlock, died Jan. 18 1988 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born in Livonia on July 5, 1912 the son of Charles and Lulu Harder Briggs.
His wife Margaret died Jan. 7, 1971. Prior to his retirement he owned and operated the Briggs Tire Co. in Livonia. He also operated the family farm for many years. Leonard attended the Hemlock Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and William Brown of Hemlock and Jean and James Michaels of Rhinebeck, NY; two grandchildren, Gary and Dana Brown; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ira and Mary Briggs and Burnell and Pauline Briggs of Hemlock; nieces and nephews.
Friends called Tuesday at the Brown-Drowne Funeral Home, Livonia. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Hemlock Baptist Church with Pator Al Milroy officiating. Burial, Harder Cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret Ace Briggs, 61, formerly of Marrowback Rd., Livonia, died Thursday Jan. 7, 1971 in Rochester.
Mrs. Briggs was born Jan. 16, 1909 in Meshoppen, Pa., the daughter of Arthur and Stella Scott Ace.
She had been ill several years. Before her illness she was a public school teacher and taught second grade in the Honeoye Central School System. Mrs. Briggs was a member of the Livonia United Church of Christ.
She leaves her husband, Leonard; two daughters, Mrs. William (Ann) Brown of Livonia and Miss Jean Briggs of New York City; four brothers Leon Ace of Florida, Elmer of Wayland, Ora of Lima and Harold of California; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Mallaber of Mt. Morris and Mrs. Mabel Coykendall of Hemlock; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Livonia.
The Rev. Joseph Shaw officiated.
Burial was in Harder Cemetery, Livonia.
