Springwater - Near the hour of five o’clock Sunday morning, March 17, 1912, occurred the death of Joseph Cork at his home in Springwater, NY, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 20 days.
About three years ago deceased was stricken with paralysis from which he partially recovered and was able to perform some light manual labor, until about a week before his death, when he was taken very sick with grip and congestion of the lungs, and notwithstanding the assistance of skillful medical treatment and careful nursing, he gradually grew worse and quietly passed away at the time above mentioned.
Deceased was the son of Samuel and Anna Hayward Cork and was born in Margate, England, January 26 1843. When a small boy his father died and when he was nine years of age he came to this country with his mother and sister.
He lived near Geneseo and Avon until over forty years ago when he went to Loon Lake, where he lived until seventeen years ago, when he moved to Springwater.
In the year 1872 he married to Luthera Estella Loveland of Wayland. To them were born six children, three sons and three daughters, Char. A., Fred E., Lester F., Louise M., Clara B., and Anna E., all surviving except Clara who died when a baby. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Permillo Seeley of Cohocton.
Deceased was a kind husband and father, a good neighbor and citizen.
The funeral services were held from the house Wednesday at 1 o’clock, p.m. Rev. W. W. Dailey pastor of the M. E. church of Springwater officiating, speaking from Job 5, 26. Interment in Mt. Vernon Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater.

Springwater - After an illness of several months Mrs. Luthera Estella Cork passed away at her home near Canadice Lake Thursday, June 12, 1913, aged 58 years, 9 months and 15 days.
Deceased was the oldest child of the late Wm. T. and Mary L. Loveland of Wayland, and was born August 26, 1854. When a girl she experienced religion and has always been an earnest Christian, following the teachings of the Bible as her daily guide.
She was a kind and loving wife, a fond and indulgent mother and a good neighbor, always having a pleasant smile and kind word for everyone.
December 24, 1872, she was married to the late Joseph Cork of Wayland, who departed this life March 17, 1912.
To them were born six chidren, three sons and three daughters, Chas. A., Fred E., Lester F., Louise M., Clara B. and Anna E., all surviving except Clara who died when a baby. She also leaves three grand children, Harold, Byron and Hazel Cork, and three brothers, John A., of Cohocton, Murray W. of Wayland, and Fayette D. Loveland of Hornell, two uncles and one aunt besides a large circle of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held from the house Monday at two o’clock, Rev. W. W. Dailey of East Rochester, assisted by Rev. W. J. Brown of Springwater officiating, speaking from the last clause of the 8th verse of the 4th chapter of 1st John, “God is Love”.
Interment in Mt. Vernon Evergreen cemetery, Springwater.
