The Obituary of Speedie Hoppough Short

1840 - 7 December 1930

From the Livonia Gazette, 12 December 1930

Hemlock - Mrs. Speedie Short, 90, died last Sunday night, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. H. Westbrook, after a long illness, the last six months of which she was practically helpless.

Mrs. Short was born in the town of Canadice but had lived in Hemlock all of her married life, a period of nearly seventy years. Mrs. Short leaves only the one daughter, Mrs. Westbrook. Her son, Frank Short, died in Hemlock about two years ago.

Three grandsons, Nathan Short and Otto and Glen Westbrook are the only other near relatives of Mrs. Short besides three great granddaughters. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. G. H. Nelson, officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. E. Frost. Burial took place in Union Cemetery, Livonia.
