Samuel W. Wheaton of Springwater NY dropped dead last Friday morning, after doing some work about the barn. He was apparently in his usual health. He was 79 years old, and often said he had never been sick a day in his life.
Word has been received that Samuel W. Wheaton of Springwater, dropped dead, March 31. He was an old resident of Lent Hill, on the farm now owned by James Chapman. Deceased was a son of Samuel Wheaton. He moved from this place about 33 years ago to Bald Hill, from there he moved to Springwater NY. He was twice married.
Samuel W. Wheaton III was born on a farm that bordered Keuka Lake near the town of Pulteney, Steuben County, New York. His mother Amelia died during an epidemic in 1835 when he was 11 years old. His father remarried and the family relocated to Prattsburg, Steuben, NY.
Samuel married Susanna Kingsley in 1845. They bought a farm and moved to Springwater, New York in about 1872. They had two known children. Susanna was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater NY.
Samuel married Naomi Haggett after the death of his first wife Susanna.

Samuel W. Wheaton III married Susanna Kingsley about 1845 and they resided at Cohocton, NY until purchasing a 100 acre farm at Livonia, NY sometime during the 1860’s. In 1872 they bought and moved to a farm at Springwater, NY. They had two known children.
Susanna Kingsley Wheaton was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater NY.
