The Obituary of George W. Farley

1858 - 21 April 1925

From the Wayland Register, 30 April 1925

Springwater - George Farley passed away at the county home in Geneseo Tuesday morning, April 21st, after several weeks’ illness.

George will be missed as he was always ready to help in many ways and was a faithful church member. He was a life-long resident of this town, until about five months ago when he went to the county home.

He was the son of the late Jesse and Betsy Farley and was born sixty-seven years ago in this town.

The beautiful pieces of flowers showed that his friends remembered him. The funeral was held at the home of H. S. Brewer Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. D. W. Hall of the Advent church and Rev. H. D. Tubbs of the M. E. church officiating.

...

Springwater - There was a good attendance and many pretty flowers at the funeral of George Farley Thursday afternoon of last week.

George will be missed as he was a familiar figure in town, of kindly disposition and a regular attendant at the M. E. church of which he was a member.

He was buried beside his mother in what is known as the Green Gull cemetery.
