The Obituary of Maud Lightfoot Haggerty

1869 - 27 March 1899

From the Livonia Gazette, 31 March 1899

Mrs. John Haggerty died at her residence last Monday morning at 10 o’clock, after an illness of less than a week.

An operation for appendicitis was performed last Sunday noon, which seemed very successful, but the action of her heart was not sufficiently strong to stand the shock, and Monday morning it was noticed that she was failing, and her death soon followed.

Mrs. Haggerty was the daughter of William Lightfoot and a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bowen. Besides these she leaves, to mourn her loss, a husband and two young sons, aged 11 and 9 years.

Funeral services were held from her late home at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, and from St. Michael’s church at 2. The burial was at Hemlock.
