1867 - 9 December 1927

From the Livonia Gazette, 16 December 1927

Miss Cora Ellen Northrop died at her home on Second street in Geneseo last Friday morning, following an illness of several weeks.

She was a graduate of the Geneseo Normal and had taught school for a number of years at different places. At one time she was a member of the Normal faculty.

In early life she joined the Episcopal church in Boston. She was a lady of a high noble character and leaves a wide circle of friends to mourn her demise. She was a lady of a friendly disposition and had a kindly feeling for all mankind.

She was born in Hemlock, and leaves several cousins and one aunt. For the past twenty-six years she and her cousin, E. J. Lindsley, had made their homes together.

The funeral was held at her late residence, Monday afternoon at 2:30 and the remains taken to Livonia for burial in the family lot.
