The Number 4 School in Hemlock is Complete

In 1876, the number 4 school in Hemlock NY was complete and a small celebration was held to celebrate.

A Hemlock Union School built in 1911

In 1911 a new Union School Building was built in Hemlock NY. It was located in the village and joined the two existing districts number 4 and 12.

The Hemlock Union School Fire in July of 1928

In July 1928 the Union School Building in Hemlock NY burned to the ground for unknown reasons. All was lost but some school records that were in the principals office.

Immediately after the July 1928 fire that destroyed the Union school building in Hemlock NY, plans were made and approved to construct a new modern brick building.

Veteran’s Memorial at Hemlock School

On memorial day in 1950 a veteran’s memorial was dedicated at the Hemlock High school. A plague was installed with the three men from Hemlock who died in WW II.

Jack Evans buys the Old Hemlock School Building

Jack Evans bought the Old Hemlock School in 1983 to manufacture building products. He also set aside a portion of the building for community uses. Jack attended the Hemlock School in his youth.

Jack Evans gives Artwork to the Town of Livonia

In 1999 Jack Evans gave a piece of fiber artwork by Ruth Vaugh to Livonia which was hung in the Hemlock School building.
