From the Wemett Family

Hemlock - Died peacefully on December 18, 2014 at age 88 of Alzheimers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy of 62 years. Also, son Lee of Hemlock, daughter Margaret of Rochester and grandchildren Shira Roberts of AK and Leighana & Roger Wing of Livonia. Several nieces & nephews; sister-in-laws Mary Muir and Patricia Brown of Knoxville, TN. He was pre-deceased by his siblings Ruth Woodruff, Norris & Bruce Wemett and his twin sister Mary Wemett.

Mark was a lifelong resident of Hemlock, NY. He served during WWII in the naval ROTC. During the Korean War, he was in the 11th airborne. He was an officer of Wemco Corp., Shell Oil Distributor, and the owner of several businesses locally. His greatest joy was handing out scripture cards and greeting people at New Hope Fellowship.

Mark was privileged to be accepted to Honor Flight Mission Troop #33. A special thank you to his caregiver Shirley Ryan.

Memorial services will be held at New Hope Fellowship in Bloomfield, Saturday January 10th at 11am with calling hours preceding at 10am. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight Rochester, PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692.

Mark’s body was donated to the Anatomical Dept. of U of R medical center.

Gone to be with the Lord at the age of 91. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Mark J. Wemett. She is survived by her son, Lee J. Wemett of Hemlock; daughter Margaret M. Wemett of Rochester; granddaughters, Shira Roberts wife of Brad Roberts, of North Pole, Alaska; Leighana Wing, wife of Roger Wing, of Livonia; five nieces; five nephews; sisters, Mary Muir and Patricia Brown of Knoxville, Tennessee; several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Peggy graduated Peabody College with a teaching degree in accounting. Upon marrying her husband, Mark, she moved to Hemlock, New York to be with him. She was a loving wife and mother who had a deep faith in God. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Catholic Family Center, 87 North Clinton Avenue, Rochester, New York 14604.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 17th, at 2:00pm at Grace Life Church, located in Avon Town Plaza, 275 East Main Street, Avon, New York 14414.
